Pricing
Each mural is different and in order to give you a firm quote I need to see the space and discuss ideas with you. My initial visit is free of charge and I will give you a free quote. For a rough idea of prices please look at my mural gallery. Each mural has a price guide under it.

Design & Quotation
After our initial consultation, if you choose to go ahead with me as your muralist, I will produce some preliminary designs and give you a  written quotation. I will require a non-returnable booking deposit of 1/2 of the quoted price. This is to cover the finalization of the design and purchasing of materials. I will begin painting your mural at a time discussed and agreed together. The final balancing payment of the quoted price is payable on the completion of the mural.

I work in a variety of styles on commissions from restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, businesses and private homes. Please do get in touch and together we can create a mural you will love.

History of murals

Murals of sorts date to prehistoric times, such as the paintings on the Caves of Lascaux in southern France, and many ancient murals have survived in Egyptian tombs, and in Pompeii. The term “Mural”is a derivative of "muralista" made famous by the Mexican "muralista" art movement. There are numerous  styles and techniques used to create murals. The best-known type of mural is probably fresco, which uses water soluble paints with a damp lime wash.
Murals are normally painted with oil or water based paints and created in many different ways. The styles can vary from abstract to trompe-l'œil (a French term for "fool" or "trick the eye")..
People like to express their individuality by commissioning a muralist or artist to paint a mural in their home, dining rooms, bathrooms, living rooms or, as is often the case- children's bedrooms. A child's room can be transformed into the 'fantasy world' of a forest or racing track, encouraging imaginative play and an awareness of art
